Terms of Service
Effective October 29, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Jiu-Jitsu+ at https://www.jiujitsuplus.app (the "Service"), a video library where jiu-jitsu athletes, coaches, and gyms upload, organize, comment on, and review training and competition footage. "We" and "us" mean Jiu-Jitsu+. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current.
- Keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away at support@jiujitsuplus.app if you think someone else has accessed it.
- One person per account. Don't impersonate anyone or pick a username meant to mislead.
- Belt rank and coach status are self-reported. Gym owners may confirm coaches for their gym, but we don't verify anyone's rank or credentials.
3. Your content
"Your content" means the videos, images, comments, timed comments, descriptions, and other material you post. You keep ownership of it.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transcode, resize, generate thumbnails and previews from, and display your content, only to operate and improve the Service and to show it to the people your visibility settings allow. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept briefly in backups or that others have already been shown (for example, a quote in a reply).
By posting content, you confirm that:
- You own it or have the rights needed to post it and grant the license above.
- You have permission from the people who are clearly identifiable in your videos, and from a parent or guardian for anyone under 18. This matters especially for kids' classes and competitions.
- You are allowed to record and share it. Some tournaments, events, and gyms restrict filming or redistributing footage. Following those rules is your responsibility.
Visibility
You choose who sees each video: only you, members of the gyms you select, or everyone with an account. Comments and timed comments follow the visibility of the video and their own private/shared setting. Gym owners and coaches can see content shared with their gym, including footage you send for a coach review. The Service isn't a public website, and content is only available to signed-in users. But anyone who can see your content could still copy or record it, so share only what you're comfortable with.
4. Gyms, coaches, and reviews
Gym owners control their gym's page, join codes, membership approvals, and which members are coaches. Owners can remove members. Coach reviews are given by the gym's coaches, not by us. We aren't responsible for the quality of any feedback, or for disputes between members and gyms.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to:
- Post content that is illegal, sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, threatening, or that sexualizes or endangers minors.
- Post someone's personal information, or footage of someone who has asked you not to share it.
- Infringe someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights, including re-uploading paid instructionals or pay-per-view broadcasts.
- Spam, mass-mention, or harass people with mentions, comments, follows, join requests, or review requests.
- Access accounts or content you aren't authorized to see, probe or break our security, or get around visibility settings.
- Scrape the Service, overload it, or upload malware.
- Use the Service for commercial purposes other than running your own gym or coaching, without our permission.
6. Training safety
Jiu-jitsu is a contact sport with real risk of injury. Content on the Service, including technique videos, comments, and coach reviews, is shared for information only. It isn't medical advice or a substitute for in-person instruction. Train under qualified supervision and at your own risk.
7. AI features
When you ask for it, the Service can suggest a title, description, and tags for a video by sending a few still frames and the existing details to an AI model. Suggestions may be wrong, so review them before saving. You are responsible for what you publish.
8. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email support@jiujitsuplus.app with: your contact information; a description of the work; a link to the content; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We will remove content that infringes, and we may close the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can reply with a counter-notice that includes the same kind of information.
9. Moderation and termination
We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put other users or the Service at risk. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why. You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@jiujitsuplus.app. Sections 3 (as to content already shared), 6, and 10–13 continue to apply after your account ends.
10. The Service is provided "as is"
We work hard to keep the Service running and your videos safe, but we provide it "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content will never be lost. Keep your own copies of footage that matters to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Jiu-Jitsu+ will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you posted or your breach of these Terms, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, to the extent the law allows.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state and federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll notify you in the Service or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms.
